I was absolutely into 90s lounge too late etc. but some of those albums were good, and some don’t stand up to my listening now! (Have not heard the LDR one.)

I find that it’s actually the “good ones” (Cibo Matto, Pizzicato 5) that don’t hold up for me, in that I never want to actually listen to them. Though Yuka Honda from Cibo Matto put out a fantastic album that doesn’t veer so close to lounge in 2004, Eucademix. Will try to upload something from it for Tumblrers just as soon as I can make my crucial point in re: LDR and Lovage. Namely — remember Lovage?

It’s clear that her ascent-to-fame burned faster and hotter than advisable or intended - I for one feel bad for her!

They should totally put a Surgeon General’s warning on record contracts and/or YouTube uploads. CAUTION: YOUTUBE UPLOADS CAN IN RARE CASES LEAD TO SUDDEN CELEBRITY.
