i guess as the grade i was proudest of in high school wasn’t any of the straight A’s but the A-minus i got in pre-calc (i know, i’m obnoxious): because it was honestly the first piece of writing i ever worked hard on. i mean, i had papers in high school in college that gave me trouble, but i only ever worked on them as hard as i needed in order to finish the first draft, and i only ever wrote them the night before (TRUE STORY got an A on a college paper i wrote entirely the day it was due, in about two hours).

I’m looking at the (wo)man in the mirror.

The A- I got in pre-calculus was the grade I was least proud of, because I figured out that I could skip the final, get a B in my final quarter, and still have an A- average for the class. My teacher never forgave me for doing it (I even had my “excused” note, and she basically just told me not to bother coming back for the last week of class) and I never forgave myself for doing it, either. So that means my proudest grade in high school was probably my A- in AP US History.
